Obituary For Ashton Cole Madeiros

“On August 24th, Ashton Cole Madeiros unexpectedly passed away at the age of 18 in Okinawa, Japan.

Ashton was born on June 14th, 2003 at the US Naval Hospital on Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. Ashton was active in sports from an early age, taking part in baseball, football, soccer, and track. Ashton was a quiet teammate, that played with tremendous heart, and always encouraged his teammates to rise to the next level, often meeting up on their own time to practice or run to refine their skills.

At the age of 7 he traveled to Okinawa for the first time, and immediately fell in love with the lifestyle and the people. At the age of 14, Ashton made his second move to Okinawa in August of 2017. On this trip he discovered his passion for cars with his best friend, Daniel. Ashton loved Okinawa so much that he decided that he wanted to make it his home. He dreamed of attaining Japanese citizenship, and was working hard to learn the language.

Ashton is survived by his mother, Erin Weeks, his father, Michael Madeiros, his stepfather, Joshua Weeks, his sisters Michaela and Mya, his grandparents, Randy Abshire and Leah Burwell, Harold Madeiros and Patrika Madeiros and his best friend Daniel Lucas.

I remember i would always talk to him about my day and he would always make me feel better. When i would cry he would always say "dont cry, you dont want to see weak and vulnerable." I'll remember that forever.
