Obituary For Billie Jane Kennedy

Billie Nelms Kennedy, 62 of Richlands, passed away Sunday morning at her residence with her husband by her side.

A graveside service for Billie will be held at 3:00pm, Friday at Onslow Memorial Park of Jacksonville with Rev. Jim Jarman officiating. The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville on Thursday evening from 7 – 9 PM.

Billie is preceded in death by her father Dewitt Nelms, Jr., mother Billie Joyce Williamson Lane, and siblings Bennie Nelms and Brenda Lane.

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years Joe Kennedy; sons Joseph Adam Kennedy of Richlands, Derrek Cameron Kennedy (currently serving in the US Army) and wife Megan of Ft. Bragg, Devin Tyler Kennedy (currently serving in the USAF) of Germany, and Dustin Joseph Kennedy and wife Nicole of Jacksonville; brother Dennis Nelms; sisters Loria Lee Carter, Mae Robinson, and Jeanette Rackley; grandchildren Teagan, Carolina, Carson, Charlie, and Charlotte; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville is honored to serve Billie’s family in their time of loss.
