Catherine Elizabeth (Charlton) Heck, 81, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023. She was born in Astoria Sanitarium, Queens, New York on July 19, 1941 to the late William Robert Charlton and Marie Louise (LaMothe) Charlton.Catherine is survived by her three children: Deborah Ann Brookhart of Evergreen Park, IL, Donna Marie Hellberg of Alexandria, VA, and Donald James Heck, Jr of Jacksonville, NC. She is also survived by one brother, Albert George Charlton of Havelock, NC, six wonderful grandchildren, and numerous great- grandchildren.Catherine is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Donald James Heck, as well as one brother, William Robert Charlton, Jr.After a career of 46 years as a seamstress in various factories, Catherine retired to enjoy her crafts of crocheting and plastic canvas. Her free time was also devoted to spoiling her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.Catherine was also a member of the Eastern Star and AFL-CIO.In lieu of flowers, please donate in honor of Catherine E Heck to either The COPD Foundation (https://www.copdfoundation.org) or a charity of your choice.After cremation, a Celebration Of Life will be scheduled for later in the spring.
