Obituary For Cyrus Allen Morton

Cyrus Allen Morton 73, of Jacksonville passed away Friday, August 27,2021 at Onslow Memorial hospital. Cyrus was born to the late Cyrus Harding and Margaret Weatherington Morton on January 13,1948. Cyrus is proceeded in death by his Wife of 36 years Nellie Lovitt Morton who passed away in 2002, a son Richard Allen Morton and a great grandchild Elijah. Left to cherish his memory are his Daughters Wendy Richards (Eddie), Connie Yonkings (Donald “Duck”), Sherry Kumpunen, Loretta DeShano (Aaron); sisters Barbra Lovitt Phelps (Bryan), Judy Kay Croom; Grandchildren Alex (Bethany), Bryan (Jenna), Lindsey (Ethan), Travis, Thomas, Tiffany (Andrew), Shawn (Taryn), Eric, Landon (Kaitlyn), Breanna, Connor; Great Grandchildren Corbin, Isaiah, Madilyn, Emersyn, Kinsley Fay, Mason, Bentley, Lydia. Cyrus never worked a day in his life turning what he loved in to a career as a commercial Fisherman. He was a man’s man and enjoyed hunting, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. He also enjoyed working with heavy machinery and was a skilled backhoe operator. Cyrus invested a great deal of time into his family. He was very family oriented. Cyrus has a large and ever-growing family. Cyrus impacted each one of them with everlasting memories that they will carry on for a lifetime. The Family will be having a visitation at the home of Cyrus’s sister Barabra Lovitt Phelps. Saturday, September 4,2021 105 Taylor St. Jacksonville, NC 28540 5pm – 7pm

    Allen was a great man. Even though I didn't know him when I first met him and Richard. He treated me like one of his kids. Taught me how to clam. If I needed a father figure to talk to his was there. He will be missed by a lot of people.

    Allen Morton was a good man. I remember when I was little he and my daddy use to take us clamming 😊. Mr Morton was one of my daddy's best friends ... and now they are reunited ... in Heaven ❤️
