Obituary For Dennis Lee Kemp

Dennis Lee Kemp, 76, of Jacksonville, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 after a long illness. He was born on August 18, 1945 in La Harpe, Illinois to the late Richard Dale and Erma Wolfe Kemp. Also, preceding Dennis in death was his late wife, Margaret Ann Kemp, and a son, Charlie Sauer. Surviving Dennis is his loving and faithful wife Chandee B. Kemp of the home; sons, Richard Kemp, of Jacksonville, NC, Michael Kemp (D’anna), of Jacksonville, NC, John Sauer (Carrie), of Jacksonville, NC, and Sam Sauer, of Viroqua, WI; daughters, Patricia Williams (Wendell), of Jacksonville, NC, Jennifer Maness (Thomas), of Lebanon, OH, and Michele Banet (Charles), of Sanford, NC; brothers, Lawrence Kemp (Bobbett), of Winnetka, CA and Kenneth Kemp (Connie), of West Columbia, TX; sisters, Karen Watkins, of Reedly, CA, Judith Springer (Mark), of Long Beach, CA, and Stephanie Kemp (Ronald Segura), of Newiberia, LA; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Moriah, Wendell Williams, James, Zachory, John, Jr., Thaianne Sauer, Mayling, Tyshawn, Jaiden Sauer, Jae’Quan, Micah, Makenzee Kemp, Kelsie and D’Ante Graham, Thomas and Galveston Maness; great grandchildren, Andrew Noflin III, Luna and Leo Graham, Ezriel Elamin, Malia, Jada, and Jaxson Williams. Dennis was a loving and caring man who adored his family. He spent his life honoring the country he served for 28 years as a Master Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. Although, Dennis is no longer with us, he will remain in our hearts forever. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Johnson Funeral Home, 2685 Henderson Drive, Jacksonville, NC 28546. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 12:00pm at The Door Christian Fellowship Church, 433 Western Blvd, Jacksonville, NC 28546.     Family of MGySgt Dennis Kemp, Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of Dennis. I served with Dennis at 2d LSB and during Desert Shield/Storm. He was an outstanding Marine. He loved his family unconditionally and kept them close to his heart. Although I'm unable to attend MGySgt Kemp's service, may God of all touch you the family and give you the strength to weather this storm. My prayers are with all of you the family of MGySgt Dennis Kemp, RIP My Brother In Arms.
