Obituary For Donald James Heck

Donald James Heck, 82, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. He was born in Metropolitan Hospital, New York City, New York on September 3, 1939, to the late William Henry and Helen Alice (Randles) Heck.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 60 memorable years, Catherine Elizabeth (Charlton) Heck; Son; Donald James Heck, Jr. of Jacksonville, NC, and Daughters; Deborah Ann Brookhart of Evergreen Park, IL and Donna Marie Hellberg of Alexandria, VA. He is also survived by his 6 wonderful grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren.

Donald is preceded in death by his 9 siblings, to include his Brothers; George Heck, Charles Edward Delauder Heck, William Henry Heck Jr., Harold David Heck, Willard Hayes Heck, and Sisters; Mary Rilla McMonigle, Helen Alice Kennedy, Caroline Grace Heck, Nora Ann Heck.

After 28 dedicated years of service in the United States Marine Corps, Donald retired a
Master Gunnery Sergeant. Donald also had a second career in the Civil Service.

Donald was also a lifetime member of the Disabled Americans Veterans, Marine Corps
League, and Military Order of the Devil Dogs.

Burial will be on Thursday, March 31 at 2:00pm at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans
Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC.
