Obituary For Edward Allen Frisbie
Edward Allen Frisbie or “Ed” as he would introduce himself to others, passed away peacefully in Wilmington, NC, on Friday, July 8, 2022, with his family by his side.
Ed was born on April 8, 1945, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Laura and Aubrey Joseph Frisbie. He grew up in New England and lived in many different states throughout his life. He served as an altar boy as a child. As a young man, he was drafted and injured in Vietnam while honorably serving his country. Later he worked as a Splice Service Technician for the telephone company and went on to become an entrepreneur.
He owned several businesses including a bed and breakfast, a Victorian garden center, a coach and carriage business, and EAF Enterprises. As owner of EAF Enterprises, he provided rental housing for many people over the years. He also purchased demolished cars, rebuilt them, and sold them. He built and remodeled several homes, bred dogs, and was a skilled horse trainer who worked on movie sets and was featured in Hollywood films with his horses.
Ed loved life and was always actively pursuing new hobbies from to going to car shows to find out about the latest in automotives to collecting a variety of antiques. He loved cooking, traveling, good movies, and his family. He was blessed with a lighthearted sense of humor and a strong work ethic. He was fearlessly adventurous and loved surprises. As such, he always provided his loved ones with surprises and took them on adventures with him.
Ed could fix anything, and there was never a day that went by that he didn't make the people around him laugh. He was one of kind and it is an understatement to say that he will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.
Edward is predeceased by his brother, Joseph Frisbie.
Edward is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lucy Frisbie; and his mother-in-law, Olga Zaga. Additionally, he is survived by his children: Kim Bates, Michael Frisbie, Laura Bynum, and Elena Kidd. Edward’s grandchildren include Kyle Frisbie, Marissa Bates, Jeremy Bates, Willow Bynum, and Olivia Bynum. Edward was a beloved husband, father, and son and will always be in the hearts of his family and friends. A private service will be held to celebrate his life.
Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville is honored to serve the Frisbie family.
