Obituary For Elaine Williams Johnson

Elaine Williams Johnson (88) of Jacksonville, NC was called Home to the Lord on Monday, December 20, 2021, the last morning of Fall. She was the wife of the late Cecil Johnson, founder of Johnson Funeral Home.

Born in Jacksonville, December 10, 1933, a daughter of the late Clyde and Lula McLain Rochelle. Mrs. Johnson was well-loved by her family, friends, and community. Her life is remembered to be one of a hard-working mother, providing unprecedented love and support to her family before needing end of life care. She was a lifelong resident and had worked in her family’s business in the operation of the Johnson Funeral Homes and for years as minority owner of the business in Jacksonville and Richlands.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her sons, Dan R Williams of McLean, VA., and Richard Anthony “Tony” Williams of Jacksonville; her daughter-in-law Mavis Williams, her brother Lenwood Rochelle and his wife Tonya; her (18) grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband Cecil, she was predeceased by her daughter Brenda Carol Lanier and son, Michael Keith Williams. Mrs. Johnson left a mark on every life she touched.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Johnson Funeral Home, 2685 Henderson Dr., Jacksonville, Wednesday December 29th from 12:30 p.m. until services begin at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Onslow Memorial Park.

    Elaine was my mothers roommate at Liberty Commons for a few years. Her name was Ruth Foley. We all adored Elaine and loved to chat with her. Our love and condolences to the family. Maureen Dennis
