Ella Estelle Crews, 76 of Richlands, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 27, 2022. She was born on January 6, 1946 in Pink Hill, North Carolina to the late Joseph William Rachel Thompson Byrd. Also, preceding her in death were three brothers, Ruben Thompson, and James and Willis Byrd; and one sister, Ruby Ray.

Surviving Ella is her loving and faithful husband of 59 years, Clayton E. Crews; son, Elwood “Juan” Crews (Theresa) of Richlands, NC; daughters, Velle S. Sostakowski (Mike) of Rue, PA and Sarah J. Crews of Richlands, NC; brother, Lugene Byrd (Joyce) of North Carolina; three sisters, Edna Sue Byrd of Beulaville, North Carolina, Sybil L. O’Brian (Rick) of Missouri, Kathleen Faircloth of Weldon, North Carolina; grandchildren, Rebecca Frank, Zacharey (Amanda) Sostakowski, Hunter Sostakowski and Faith Carol Crews; great grandchildren, Shaun Frank, Alexis Frank, and Adelynne Sostakowski. Ella was an amazing lady with a kind heart, a dry witty sense of humor and a strong love for God. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Richlands. Ella loved her family and her grandchildren more than life itself. Although, she is no longer with us, we will carry her in our hearts forever.

A Visitation will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Bethany Baptist Church, 1077 Nine Mile Road, Richlands, NC 28574, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 pm also at Bethany Baptist Church. A Committal Service will immediately follow at the Crews Family Cemetery at 320 Davis Road, Richlands, NC.
