Obituary For Ernesto Andres Bonilla

Ernesto Andres Bonilla, 51, beloved husband of Kathy Lewis Bonilla, of Jacksonville, was unexpectedly called home to the Lord on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, May 2, 1970, the son of Gloria Trevizo Bonilla, of Chandler, , and the late Ernesto Bonilla, he had proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 29 years until his retirement. Besides his wife Kathy and mother Gloria, he is survived by his daughters, Kiana Bonilla, Sydney Walden and her husband Bailey, and Ashley Stuart all of Jacksonville; her son Kenneth Stuart of Oceanside, CA; and his sisters, Carla Rowan and her husband Dave of Hendersonville, NV, and Nina Johnson and her husband Ryan of Germany. He was predeceased by his sister Lia. His family will receive relatives and friends in the Johnson Funeral Home, 2685 Henderson Drive in Jacksonville, Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by services and military honors at 2 p.m. Share memories or condolences to the family by clicking the “Condolences” button above.

    Dear family, Ernie and I crossed paths early at the Viper Family and we were close until his blessing to guard the gates of heaven!. Many days of communication and shared the path of CWO in our careers! His smile and spirit will always be the reminder of his kindness and when he told you he was your friend it was forever.     I had the honor of meeting E in the 90's right before his deployment to Desert Storm. We have kept in touch ever since. I will miss his pep talks and words of wisdom. My heart is broken tonight. Prayers to all three of his daughters and his wife. He loved being a Marine and most of all being a dad. Rest in paradise my friend forever. Love, Dana DiEugenio.
