Obituary For Ethel Arnetta McCallister

Ethel Arnetta McCallister 72, of Jacksonville went to be with the Lord September 27,2021.

Arnetta was born in Charleston, West Virginia November 13,1948.

Arnetta was proceeded in death by her parents Oral Wayne and Ethel Carper Dye; her husband Walter McCallister and her brother Wayne Dye.

Left to cherish her memory is her sons Jeffrey McCallister, Steven McCallister, and Craig McCallister; her brother Roger Dye; sisters Kay Smith, Gloria Miller, Kim Dye; niece Carol Dove. Daughter in Love Lisa Marshall, Grandson in love Sean, and great friend Barbara Troup

Arnetta loved her family and friends. Arnetta enjoyed the outdoors and the wildlife. She would often watch the humming birds in the flower garden and enjoyed feeding the other birds. She would plant a vegetable garden to harvest. She loved her dog Zoey and enjoyed having her by her side. Arnetta was a collector of owls and butterfly trinkets.

Arnetta and her family created many memories traveling and going on cruises she really enjoyed exploring the world. She enjoyed fishing with her late husband Walter. Arnetta was a great cook. Craig especially enjoyed fried pork chops, fried Potatoes and fried apples, he requested Momma to make this any occasion he could.

Arnetta was a Member of Victory Baptist Church of Jacksonville and retired from the Camp Lejeune commissary.

Arnetta was dedicated to her work, Church and family. She enjoyed so much out of life and impacted everyone she met. She will be truly missed.

Service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home Friday October 1,2021 at 11:30 the family will be accepting visitors Thursday September 30,2021 at Johnson funeral home from 6-8 pm

    Arenetta was my oldest adopted sister. The last time I visited her home in Jacksonville, NC was 2yrs ago. While my visit there in the Summer months . She had taken myself, and a friend to a Water Museum to see the underwater Sharks, and other underwater species. Also she took us to the beach, so I could walk barefoot in the sand. She was a very good cook, She loved her 3 son's very much. She loved me very much. She was very dedicated to her family, and her work. We would set on her front porch , and enjoy the special moments of our time together. She and her oldest son visted my home in Va . While heading to see her best friend Lisa. in Northen, Va Her best friend was also in The US Marine Corps. She will be truly missed by myself , and other family members, and friends that knew her.
