Obituary For James Edward Norris
James Edward Norris, 82, of Richlands, went home to be with his savior on November 8, 2021. He was born on October 15th, 1939, to the late Benjamin and Viola Wells Norris. James was also proceeded in death by his daughter Laurrie Ann Norris Kane, two granddaughters, Amy Cameron and Lexi Norris, five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Betty Crews Norris, son Michael Norris (Gail), daughter Lisa Williams (Russell) of Richlands, son Eddie Norris (Joanne) of Wallace, and daughter Wanda Brown (Donald) of Currie, along with eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, brother John Norris, sisters Perline Davis and Evelyn Parker and his faithful pup, Oreo.
James loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was always ready to tell a story or joke, he had a contagious laugh and could often be found watching a good western or his all-time favorite, wrestling. If fishing is allowed in heaven, it is certain that he is wetting a hook, as his body wouldn’t allow for it in his later years.
The visitation for James will be held Friday evening from 6-8pm at Christian Community Church, 732 Nine Mile Rd, Richlands, NC. A funeral service will also be held at Christian Community Church on Saturday at 2pm with reverends Anthony Davis and Tim Norris officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home 2685 Henderson Road, Jacksonville. Share condolences to the family at www.johnsonfhnc.com.
