Obituary For John Russell "Rusty" Reed

John Russell "Rusty" Reed, 66, of Jacksonville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 23, 2021. Rusty was born in Washington, DC, November 18, 1954, a son of the late Jerry Reed and the late Ethel Harrell. He has been a longtime member of the Jacksonville Fire Department, retiring as Fire Marshall. Rusty is survived by his beloved family, daughters Tiffany Reed and her husband Jason Wilebski of Wisconsin, Michelle Fright and her husband Eric of Jacksonville; his sons Dennis Rochelle and his wife Victoria and Kristopher Rochelle all of Jacksonville; his grandchildren Taylor Kreider, Brittany Cato and husband Andy, Eric Fright IV, Hannah Fright, Emily Fright, and Isaac Rochelle; his great-grandchildren Elijha Tetzlaff, Audri Kelly, Averi Kelly, Cooper Cato; and his brothers Richard Reed of Cary, Brent Reed, and Corey Reed of Holly Springs. Visitation for Rusty will be held 6:00pm-8:00pm, Friday, July 30, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home, 2685 Henderson Drive in Jacksonville. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home. Condolences may be left by clicking the "Condolence" tab above.

    John touched the lives of many people. The best fire marshal ever and a Godly man that I had the honor to call my friend. My sincere sympathy for his family and all those that loved him. He will be missed greatly. Go rest high with your Heavenly Father.
