Obituary For Leslie Melissa Lopez

Leslie Melissa Lopez, 34, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 3, 2022. She was born in Long Beach, California to Jose and Maria Gomez Ortiz.

Surviving Leslie is her loving husband Josh Lopez and their 4 beautiful children, Josiah, Maleah, Mariah, and Caroline; parents, Jose and Maria Ortiz, of Hemet, CA; brothers, Jose Lito Ortiz (Misty), of Kentucky and Edgar Ortiz (Carmen), of California.

Leslie was a beautiful person inside and out; with an infectious smile. She was an amazing and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her favorite thing to do in life was to be a mother to her children. Leslie was a former cheerleader for the LA Clippers, loved rollercoasters, arts and crafts, clothes and hot sauce! She will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know Leslie, but she will always remain in our hearts forever.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 12:00-1:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 2685 Henderson Drive, Jacksonville, NC 28546. Following the Visitation, a Funeral Service to Celebrate Leslie’s life will be at 1:00PM also at Johnson Funeral Home.

I love my Titi Leslie more than words can describe. One of my favorite memories with her was when we were on google duo together and as many of you know, she was a very excellent and successful cheerleader and I would say i'm a pretty good tumbler so she would teach me how to do many, many things on our google duos and on one of them, we were wondering if she could still do a hand stand. It was hilarious because she tried to do a headstand first and we were both cracking up because she was failing miserably (but in a funny way) I have so many other memories and I could talk about her for hours but I am going to miss and love her forever. I can't wait till the day where I see you again, and we will tumble and do stunts, flips, ride rollercoasters (your favorite) and much much more in Heaven. With greatest love- Kayla Pie <3

We loved Leslie so very much and are so sad about this devastating news. She was like a family member to us for many years. She and Jamie were great friends. Leslie was a beautiful person with an infectious smile and was kind to everyone. We had hoped to see her again someday, meet her children and give her hugs. She is now a beautiful angel and may she watch over us all, especially her family. We send prayers, love, hugs and our condolences. We are so sorry and heart broken. With deepest sympathy, The Mayer Family (Larry, Marianne, Justin & Jamie)

Leslie was one of my best friends for the last 10 years. She will be greatly missed by those of us who loved her so much. She had four of the most beautiful children I have ever seen! Her obituary states that she loved hot sauce, and that's so true! The hotter, the better! Leslie had one of the most caring hearts, and loved people from way deep inside. She had such a loving and tender side to her, and though she didn't have much, she was more than willing to share anything she had with anyone. I will miss her greatly. I love you, Leslie. Forever and always.
