Obituary For Michael "Mike" Manuel

Michael Andrew Manuel passed away peacefully in his home on December 18, 2020. Born on June 20, 1959 to Kallen and Marie Manuel, Michael graduated from Camp Lejeune High School in 1977. Michael worked a thirty plus year career with Jones Onslow serving as a substation crew foreman and instructor, and continued to instruct at Coastal Carolina as a part time power line technician and substation instructor.
Michael was a loving father, son, brother, and grandfather who never passed judgment and would help in any way he could. He was an avid golfer, a lover of music, and always ready with a joke and a smile, with a twinkle in his piercing green eyes. He passed on his love of music to his daughters and grandchildren, having served as the drumline captain at CLHS.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Kallen and Marie Manuel, and is survived by his siblings, brothers, Darrell Manuel and Carl Manuel, sister, Susan Manuel, ex-wife of twenty-two years, Paula Davis Bock, his three daughters, Rebecca Cole (David Cole), Carley Manuel (Caroline McClure) and Carah Manuel (Hunter Simmons), five grandchildren, Skylar, Brooklynn, Taylor, Presley, and Kennedy, and multiple nieces.
Services will be held on January 12th, 2021 at 1 PM at Catalyst Church and a graveside service will follow.

Mike, I will miss seeing your posts online, your great sense of humor, and all of your adventures. I will keep those memories of you safe in my heart and mind. Rest in peace, fellow Devilpup! Mike was a great friend and one of the bright lights of my (our) Devilpup days in high school. He remained his entire life the guy you wanted to be your friend. Mike had that rare ability to make anyone immediately feel like you were his lifelong friend. He was the "heart-beat" of our teenage band and I am sure our old band mate Wally Winoski is welcoming him to heaven's rock n roll band. God bless you Mike- the world is a lesser place without you. My heartfelt condolences to his family and all Devilpups who were privileged to call him a friend..
