To the Arbelo Family, Our Cousin, Cookie, meant the world to us growing up. In 1968, right after High School, she moved in our home to help with us five kids and to go to Technical College to get a Degree. Our Mother (her Aunt) had passed away and Our Father (her Uncle) had remarried and Cookie moved in to help. The two or 3 years she was there she shared her music with us. She loved her collection of 45's. We already knew about Motown acts, and she introduced us to acts like the Chi-lites, Dramatics, Manhattans, Archie Bell & the Drells, and the list goes on. We met her friends. We got to see a lot more of her Sisters and Brothers (our Cousins)! That was a uplifting part of our young lives. We were so proud of her when, once she graduated from her studies, she landed a job with the local CBS Affiliate TV Station as a Cameralady. Cookie was the very first African American Camaralady in the USA (probably the world). After a few years there she got a better position out-of-state and there she was gone from our daily lives but never forgotten and came back to visit and then we met Norberto and the rest is wonderful memories. Prayers for the Family and we will, together, keep the Legacy of Cookie and our Families strong and graceful. . Love, . . Trent and Cora Clark . .
