Roy Lee Futrell, 72, of Richlands, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.

Roy was born in Jacksonville, September 19, 1949, a son of the late William and Mary Alice Futrell.

He is survived by his daughters, Laurie Ross and her husband Shawn of Swansboro and Latisha Stiles of Richlands; his sons, Anthony “Tony” Futrell of Richlands and William “Bill” Futrell of Iowa; his sisters, Faye Kirkland and Diane Williford, both of Richlands; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his longtime close friend JR Nelson. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son John Clayton Futrell and his wife Sandra Futrell.

Visitation for Roy will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 210 West Hargett Street in Richlands. Services will be held Wednesday, September 7, at 2 p.m. in the Johnson Funeral Home followed by his burial in the Community/Swinson Cemetery on Catherine Lake Road in Richlands.
